Make a contribution
On or after July 4, 2026, anyone can contribute to a child’s Trump Account. Parents, family, and friends can contribute up to a total of $5,000 per year to an eligible child’s account. Employers can contribute up to $2,500 per year, per employee, which counts toward the $5,000 annual limit. Other donors, including non-profit organizations and state and local governments, can also contribute to these accounts. Note that qualified class contributions from non-profit donors or government add extra support and don’t count towards the annual contribution limit.
The steps are different depending on if you’re the responsible party on the account, or someone who wants to contribute to your child’s Trump Account.
Note that you can set up recurring contributions only with a bank account and not a debit card account. When making a contribution, the app will show you what amount is eligible to be contributed.
You can view contribution history and pending contributions in History, also accessible via the Contributions tab.
For contributions made using a newly linked debit card for the first time, you may be required to complete a verification for security purposes. Types of verification can differ by bank, like with SMS (text), ZIP code, or 1 or more security questions.
Contributions with a debit card can't be canceled. For information on canceling a pending or recurring contribution from a bank account, review Contributions FAQ.
